Podi kizhi

Podi Kizhi, also known as Choorna Swedana, is a traditional Ayurvedic treatment that involves the application of herbal powders tied into boluses (kizhis) for therapeutic massage. This treatment is particularly effective in addressing pain, inflammation, and stiffness in the body.

In Podi Kizhi, specific herbal powders are chosen based on the individual's health condition and are heated in a pan or dry roasted. These powders are then wrapped in a cloth to form boluses, which are used to massage the body. The boluses are typically warmed in medicated oils or dry heat and applied through gentle, circular, and rhythmic strokes.

Podi Kizhi is beneficial for:

  • Alleviating pain and stiffness in the muscles and joints
  • Reducing inflammation and swelling
  • Improving blood circulation and lymphatic drainage
  • Enhancing skin tone and texture
  • Detoxifying the body and promoting relaxation
